November 07, 2025

Bolt Tensioner Systems and Solutions for Nuclear Power Plants

BREA, C.A. – November 7, 2025 – Curtiss-Wright announced today that it has signed a new, exclusive teaming partner agreement with Tensor AB. Under the agreement, Curtiss-Wright will serve as Tensor AB’s sole channel to market and supply its Reactor Vessel Head (RVH) Tensioner, Bolt Gauge, Stud Runner, Multi-Stud Tensioners, and Single Stud Tensioners to the North American commercial nuclear market. Work under this agreement will be performed by Curtiss-Wright Nuclear.

“Collaboration within the industry is a critical strategy in supporting the global nuclear supply chain,” said Kurt Mitchell, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Curtiss-Wright Nuclear. “By combining our technical expertise with Tensor AB’s innovative bolting solutions, we have helped our customers improve efficiency, reliability, and performance in complex applications.”

Based in Gothenburg, Sweden, Tensor AB has been designing, producing, and servicing hydraulic tensioning systems since 1978. The company established a non-exclusive agreement with Curtiss-Wright in 2014 to strengthen its position in the U.S. nuclear market. Since then, with the support of Curtiss-Wright, Tensor AB has expanded its stud tensioner customer base from 5% of U.S. nuclear power plants to 22% of the domestic nuclear fleet.

“Tensor is excited to deepen our partnership with Curtiss-Wright. Together, we’re committed to providing the best products and support to the nuclear industry. Our successful collaboration so far has driven growth in the U.S., and we look forward to accelerating that momentum,” said Ulf Bäckström, Managing Director, Tensor AB.

Curtiss-Wright maintains one of the most comprehensive and diverse portfolios of high-performance components, advanced technologies, and critical services to support the global nuclear power industry.
